Ronald Ernest Paul is a Republican United States Congressman, who gained widespread attention during his campaign for the 2008 Republican Party presidential nomination. During the campaign he attracted an enthusiastic following who made use of the internet and social networking to establish a grassroots campaign despite lack of traditional organization or media attention. He criticized the Republican Party for abandoning its principles of limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and sound monetary policies, and in particular strongly opposed American involvement in the War in Iraq.
Byrd apologized and renocnued his KKK days. Paul? Not so much.P.S. Byrd ain't running for president.P.P.S. News articles about RP try to stsres that he is ineffective because he has had very little legislation with his name attached. It seems more likely that everyone else is so used to an interventionist Congress enacting more and more laws that they don't understand what following the Constitution means any more.?
